@MicrosoftCanada Celebrates #InternationalWomen’sDay #womenofmicrosoft @VeritasComm

International Women’s Day (March 8th) is tomorrow; to honour this special day Microsoft Canada celebrated inspiring women in technology and the community with a special event.  On March 6, 2014, I was invited to attend  the #womenofmicrosoft event held at The Spoke club in Toronto.  The evening highlight was the unveiling of a fantastic portrait with some of the company’s leading ladies alongside some select entrepreneurial women from the community.

We heard from several amazing women.  Janet Kennedy (President of Microsoft Canada) on “the journey to my dream job”.  Microsoft Canada values diversity … women are treated without discrimination.  Microsoft Canada  celebrated Canada’s leading ladies.  Women are changing business with Microsoft technology.  Celebrating amazing women across Canada, 10 entrepreneurial women nominated to be chosen to tell their stories and to showcase the positive impact that technology has had on their lives.  These women have used Microsoft technology to revolutionize her business, to support her entrepreneurial dreams, to fuel her passions, and to support social innovation … ultimately she has used Microsoft technology to make a difference.

There were a series of photos presented which paired a member of the Microsoft Team alongside an incredible entrepreneurial woman that uses Microsoft technology to attain her dreams.  Women’s Day celebrates the achievement of women globally; what better way to honour women than to honour and highlight all the positive impact?

It was a fabulous evening; I am honoured to have been included.  Thank you Microsoft Canada and Veritas.
