Enjoy Each Step #SKECHERS #SkechersPerformance #ad

I’m overweight [obese really] and definitely not fit; however, that doesn’t mean that I’m not trying!  I’m 50 years old ~ugh!~ and I’ve gone through some difficult experiences over the past several years but now I’m feeling better, stronger, and even hopeful … for change.

Disclosure: I have been compensated to share this post. The opinions on this blog are my own.

I have never professed to be ‘in shape’ or even ‘put together’ but I have made some changes to my life so that I can get onto the path to be healthier.  I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get back to what I once was but I think I owe it to myself to try.  Even though I’m 50, the truth is I don’t know if I will live to be 100!  The best thing to do is to focus.

Since January, and up until my recent trip to Vancouver, I had been routinely exercising on my treadmill and I was eating pretty healthfully.  Like everyone (I suppose), I got sidetracked with my vacation.  You know how it is?  Friends and family want you to come have a drink and/or meal to celebrate the fact that you’re together again, you go see this or go see that and BAM there’s an ice cream shop!  Damn it.  What are you going to do?  I say: “it’s ok to slack off or else you won’t be able to enjoy the moment”.  Now that I’m back it’s time to get back on track!  I’m not going to beat myself up about a pound … or two … or three … or whatever!  There’s no point in being hard on myself and it’s not going to be positive at all.  I’m going to embrace the break and accept it as having been a positive, re-energizing experience that I so desperately needed  …  and I’m going to embrace the hard work I’m going to have to do to get to a healthier weight.

There isn’t an agenda.  I’m not trying to get to size zero.  I’ve been a size zero and it wasn’t healthy, good, or glamorous.  I need to reduce my weight for my heart, my back, and my overall health.

It’s sad actually.  There are many that don’t have to worry about their weight, nor do they have to struggle.  Then there are many that struggle with their weight … whether it be to gain weight or to lose weight.  It’s a constant battle!  I’ve struggled with my weight all of my life, and it feels like I’ve been every size there is!!!  I know that’s not true but I have been every size from zero to eighteen!  I believe I’ve been every one of those sizes twice!  I remember seeing my mom struggle with her weight too.  Perhaps it’s genetics?   Perhaps it has to do with anxiety or depression?  Whatever it is doesn’t change the fact that I have to make changes!  Somehow I have to make progress.

One thing I don’t have to compromise is my comfort.  That’s important you know!  I rely on my SKECHERS to give me the cushioning protection I need.  The SKECHERS Ultra Flex – First Take shoe is a slip on sporty comfort walking and training sneaker with an air-cooled memory foam insole, and an Ultra Flex midsole (a highly flexible comfort midsole with superior impact cushioning protection and remarkable energy return).  I take my SKECHERS with me on every trip I go on.

As you can see for yourself, British Columbia had no idea that Jeannine was about to hit them hard with style, comfort, and class!  I wore my SKECHERS everywhere because I need comfort because of my lower back issues, and because I need style

On this trip out West I also took my SKECHERS Apparel – Nite Owl™ Activate Packable Windbreaker Jacket.  It’s very handy to fold up your jacket into front welt pocket … basically converting into a fanny pack!  It’s also handy that it’s water-resistant fabric to help keep you dry, and that the polka dot print is reflective (this keeps you safe if you decide to go for a walk/jog/run at night).  While this windbreaker jacket is especially perfect for travel, it’s also awesome for use right here in my beloved Toronto & GTA!

For those that follow me, you know about my love for SKECHERS.  For those that happened to come across this post, you should know that SKECHERS is one brand that I really stand behind.  It’s affordable, fresh, innovative, caters to a variety of needs, seasons and styles all the while providing support and comfort.

With SKECHERS, you can’t go wrong.

Skechers Boots for Autumn and Winter #SKECHERSstyle #ad

Winter doesn’t want to leave, just yet.  Reality is that winter really hasn’t been that bad!  Aside from the days (literally days) of large snowfalls, I’ve used the same boots each time I step out.  They’re my autumn boots!  I know it’s hard to believe but my autumn boots can be used in the winter too.

Disclosure: I have been compensated to share this post. The opinions on this blog are my own.

To be completely truthful, I definitely prefer a tall boot that’s warm and even waterproof when it’s snowing and/or raining.  However, when it’s just a regular winter day; even with a little snow already on the ground, my short autumn boots fit the bill!  They’re warm enough, definitely stylish, and super comfortable.  Now, why am I telling you this?  SKECHERS can get you ready to enjoy all that autumn, winter, and even spring have to offer!

For years now, you’ve learned how much I love SKECHERS.  It’s my love for SKECHERS that allowed me to accept collaborating with SKECHERS.  Today, it’s both love and pride for the brand that allows me to continue to collaborate with them.  It’s the excitement I feel that makes me want to share my SKECHERS experiences with family, friends, and online friends alike.

I’m very happy to see that over the last several years SKECHERS has increased their product line.  Style, comfort and innovation have found a way to live harmoniously among all the different styles and looks within the SKECHERS family.  There’s literally something for everyone!  The brand is extremely popular but, for me, that’s not what’s important … what is important is quality, fit and comfort.  SKECHERS has it all and more.

In fact, SKECHERS has cornered the market when it comes to comfort.  I am beyond happy each and every time I step into any of my SKECHERS shoes or boots.  I am equally as happy sharing how much I love SKECHERS with you.  If you haven’t tried on a pair of SKECHERS please do so.  You can find SKECHERS Canada-wide, in footwear retail stores.  I know you’ll fall in love with them!  What’s going to be hard is only picking one pair.

Get Out There #GoGolf Enjoy #NationalGolfMonth #SKECHERS #ad

In search of a flexible, comfortable, lightweight golf shoe that can give you stability in your performance while being stylish doesn’t sound easy but I know a way to make it so! It’s actually quite simple.

August is “National Golf Month” and the perfect time for you to discover what SKECHERS has to offer. The truth of he matter is golf is a year-round sport but; for those of us who live in Toronto, you might have to take a few trips to get to the ideal locations in order to enjoy the game. That’s part of the passion and the dedication.

I don’t golf, but my partner does and is quite the avid golfer! There’s actually a group of friends that plan yearly trips to warmer locations in order to continue playing! Crazy isn’t it? Not for the golf-lover I’m sure. The constant getaways don’t bother me; however, given that our retirement years are not too far off I might want to try embracing the sport so that I can (at least) go along!

Enough about my personal story; get ready to hear what I’ve been saying for the past several years: SKECHERS can offer you an excellent golf shoe and even comfortable golf apparel!  For those of you that know me well, or for those of you that have been following me, you know exactly how much I love SKECHERS … and now I love them even more! The SKECHERS Go Golf Push Fade Short is made of comfortable, breathable material, and is excellent at moisture management!  The relaxed, slim fit is stylish golf attire that is sure to help you with your hole in one … so to speak.  So clean your clubs, and be the first one out on the course.  Here are some tips to help with your game:

  • download the latest app to improve your game
  • take a lesson with a pro
  • play a Par-3 course and focus on wedges (for example)
  • deliberately practice
  • work on your drive posture
  • learn how to read your green
  • perfect your grip
  • try a flexible, comfortable, lightweight golf shoe; like SKECHERS GO GOLF KILTIE 2.0

The SKECHERS GO GOLF KILTIE 2.0 has a flexible, innovative, durable design that also happens to be one of the lightest golf shoes out there!  What does that mean to you?  It means comfort, control, and traction …. it boils down to a better game.  When you consider the facts:  a full day of walking well over your required 10,000 daily steps, and burning 500+ calories you definitely want everything to work in your favour!

I’m guessing that if you apply some of my tips you’re sure to see improvement in your game.  Come back and let me know about it!

Get out there and enjoy the game!
