WHAT I THOUGHT:

I looked forward to receiving this movie because I love the starring ladies; I have been in need of a good laugh as of late and with the current social distancing WHO doesn’t need a distraction?  Along with the movie, I also received some ‘Like a Boss’ themed goodies that included a compact mirror and a little take-along overnight kit! These goodies are very useful so I’m quite pleased.

For me, I found that the story was quite predictable; however, Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne have great chemistry and project a believable friendship that we can all relate to.  Personally, I didn’t find it “hilariously funny” as I had anticipated but there were several enjoyable and funny scenes.  Unfortunately the movie was a little boring; however, you will discover all of the ‘feel-good movie’ feels have been cram-packed into the ending. It’s at this point that the movie’s message is revealed. True friendship will prevail; even at the worst of times.

The Affair: The Final Season #TheAffair #GiftedProduct

Have you seen the series The Affair?  I haven’t seen ‘The Affair’ so reviewing ‘The Final Season’ was a little difficult for me. Although you can watch it on its own, without a background of the story it felt like I had jumped into the middle of a book.

I would’ve enjoyed how the characters had evolved and how they arrived at ‘The Affair: The Final Season’.  Having explained this, I can say that I did enjoy ‘The Final Season’ and plan on seeing ‘The Complete Series’ as soon as I possibly can.

The acting was overall fine enough; however, in some instances it seemed a little over-dramatic?  Although I was left wanting more knowledge of the events that led up to ‘The Final Season’, it was fully apparent that this intriguing drama series explores the emotional effects of an extramarital affair.  Point taken: don’t lose control.

I chose not to fully dive into a full on review because I believe it wouldn’t be fair.  Suffice it to say the this series has earned its 3 Golden Globe Awards, and many others!

The Corrupted was Convoluted #TheCorrupted #GiftedProduct

My movie review of ‘The Corrupted’ proved to be more challenging than I had anticipated.

The film is set in the early 2000s when Britain was bidding to host the Olympic Games in East London and provides strong mafia crime-drama filled scenes along with captivating performances.  Certainly if Britain’s bid would be accepted it would mean that the Olympic regeneration of Britain’s low valued East-end land would provide much profit.  At the same time; however, it would also stir up the reactions of mobsters and crooks!

5CF2845D-2EA3-4034-9D80-F4A72086E0FFUnfortunately, while some of the action explodes on screen, the dialogue pales in comparison due to over-used clichés and typical/tiring dialogue.  Truth be told, I was expecting a suspenseful conspiracy thriller. Instead, I feel like the plot was convoluted.  This is not to say that there’s anything specifically wrong with the film; however, there isn’t really anything that makes it memorable either.

Tell me, what did you think?
