Labour Day – Last Day at CNE #letsgototheex

If you live in Toronto (GTA Toronto) then you know that Labour Day is the final day at the CNE.  It is the “last day of summer” as we know it, and that means “go celebrate it at the CNE”!  [Lovingly know as the EX]

The Canadian National Exhibition [ ] has been around since 1879!  It’s an annual fair that takes place for 18 days up to (and including) Labour Day.   For us, it’s a family tradition to attend at least once or twice without fail. There’s so much to do at the EX, really … it’s the ideal way to have some family fun.  There are rides, shows, exhibits, food vendors, clothing/shoe vendors, craft vendors, beer garden, animals, the air show, and even a Casino!  You can visit their website for more details or; quite frankly, just visit … you won’t regret it.Please note the following early closing hours for Labour Day Monday:

– Gates close at 5 pm
– Buildings close at 7 pm
– Casino closes at 8 pm
– Rides close at 9 pm
– Grounds close at 9 pm

The End of Summer is Here #letsgototheex

The end of summer is truly here.  Every year, at this time, I always do the same thing … it’s routine, it’s tradition.  I always bid summer adieu with a visit to the Ex.  This year, it ends on September 7th.

Since I always sneak in a few drinks at the end of the day, I take the trust-worthy TTC to the Canadian National Exhibition.  Note:  If you are attending the CNE this weekend, don’t forgot to bring a hat, sunscreen and lots of water to drink.  There are various water refill stations located around the grounds.

If you’ve never been to the Ex before, I think you shouldn’t put it off any longer.  There’s so much to see, do, and experience there! [] Personally, I’m not a ‘ride person’ so I avoid the Midway.  I tend to visit all the indoor exhibits:  butter sculpting, sand sculpting, topiary, the farm, and shopping! I usually spend an entire day … yes, from open to close.  I ensure I try a different food each year, and I usually end up purchasing much more than I expect to!    That’s just how it is; it’s part of the experience and part of the tradition.  By the end of the day, I’m exhausted.  That means it’s time to visit the bandshell and enjoy a beverage or two.

One Day Left So @letsgototheex #CNE2014

Fortunately, I live in Toronto so I’m lucky enough to easily experience the EX … and I have been since I was a little girl.  There’s so much to see and do at the EX!  There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, rides, games, entertainment, shopping, and Food! Oh, the food!
