Oh Joy! It’s Back-to-School! #ChurchAndDwight #BTS #ad

Joy of joys; it’s back to school!

What parents are not looking forward to for back to school!

Disclosure: I have been compensated to share this post. The opinions on this blog are my own.

I know many of our “little ones” aren’t very happy about how quickly back-to-school time is approaching.  Summer is basically over which means the reality of routines and homework is about to start.  Back-to-school also means it’s back to our routines as well:

Laundry:  Are you ready for gym clothes and uniforms?  I’m so lucky my daughter won’t be participating in sports in College BUT that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten the joys of keeping her school uniform in good condition … it’s only been a few months since she’s graduated high school after all!   There’s no point in asking your kid(s) to take care of their gym clothing.  I learned the hard way.  I learned to take the easy way out … just accept the fact that the onus is on you.  It’s much easier to be wiser.  Get your hands on OxiClean™ Colour Shield Liquid Laundry Stain Remover because it’ll keep your colours looking their brightest.  You can also use OxiClean™ White Revive™ Stain Remover Powder, which will will take care of your whites – without  chlorine bleach!

… and for those nasty stains, just try OxiClean™ Laundry Stain Remover Spray and OxiClean™ Max Force™ Gel Stick to pre-treat in advance of your next laundry day.

Trust me, these are some valuable tips that I’ve injected into my laundry routine and I’ve come out of the laundry ordeal extremely pleased.

Aches and pains: Now it doesn’t matter if you’re back to work or just trying to keep up with all the back to school headaches … just trying to keep up you are bound to feel some aches and pains.  I’ve been feeling a lot of tension in all my muscles!  Topical pain relievers such as RUB·A535™ Extra Strength Heating Cream are essential to have on hand for those muscle aches and pains. It delivers fast-acting, warm, penetrating relief of muscle, joint, back and arthritic pain.  I’ve been using RUB·A535™ since I was in high school.  I love how effective it is.

Cavities:  I know you don’t want to hear this … brace yourselves … before you know it, Halloween will be approaching and then the Holidays are not far behind.  Scary, I know, but it’s true.  With all the sweets coming up, getting your kids to regularly brush their teeth is very important for their dental health, and your peace of mind.  To incentivize your kids try giving them the novelty of the moving brush head on Arm & Hammer™ Spinbrush™ Kids Battery Toothbrush and  designs such as My Little Pony™ and Paw Patrol™.  They’ll get excited and look forward to brushing their teeth more often.  Heck, I know we want at least 2x a day but let’s start off small and hope for “more often” at least.

It’s tough being a parent, isn’t it?  With back-to-school comes peace of mind.  I know my daughter will be actively investing in herself … and I’ll be taking moments of much deserved me-time.  What will you do with your time?

Sad but true, summer will soon be over and we’ll all have to face back-to-school and/or back-to-work and all it entails.  Whew!  What a mouthful.  Are you feeling the pressure yet?

  1. Come up with lunch box ideas together.  There’s no bigger waste than seeing the sandwich you made the night before come back in its container at the end of the day.  Healthy options are important, so consider including your kids in the process and pick out a few recipes together so they feel invested in what they’ve prepared.  Try a variety of products!  Visit and even build your own collection at pc.ca/insiders.
  2. Don’t double up on supplies.  Determine what needs to go to school and what is best kept at home.  Keep the extra, easily lost items for home use.  Set out a space for homework and projects where these pieces can be easily stored and shared between all the students in your home.  Find savings at realcanadiansuperstore.ca.
  3. Stay tech-savvy.  Staying digitally connected with our kids is important, especially when they travel to and from school.  There are tons of plans out there, so it’s important to ensure you’re only paying for what you need.  PC Mobile has some great basic, kid-friendly options.  Find out all you need at pcmobile.ca.
  4. Maximize value with points.  Leverage your loyalty programs, like PC plus, when you’re buying your back-to-school necessities and every day essentials.  It’s a great way to maximize your saving.  Learn more at presidentschoice.ca.

Staples – School Supplies and More

Back to school means one thing:  shopping for back-to-school supplies.  For a seasoned mom, like me, I had “the list” taken care of weeks ago!  Staples is great for checking off the items on that back-to-school list … quick and easy.

This year my daughter is in grade 11.  Schoolwork is definitely getting more complicated, there are many after school commitments, and she has part-time hours (from her job) to squeeze in.  This year, it’ll be another one of my daughter’s “firsts” … to get organized.

Staples recently invited us to go to our local Staples store to see how they could help take care of my daughter’s first time at getting organized needs.

In order to keep track of schedules, there are a couple of ways to keep on top of it.  Desk pads and planners are perfect … we thought it better to use both.  We also selected an Erase Board to put up right by my daughter’s study desk.  These are easy and economical ways to keep her commitments.

To keep on top of homework and on top of all those due dates, we decided to create (customize) our little binder with filler paper and dividers.  The filler paper is blank, lined sheets – perfect to keep notes, tips, and reminders while in class!

We couldn’t help but throw in a few essential back-to-school supplies that are needed:

S2– Staple-free stapler – no need for staples and perfect for all those projects

-8 GB Hello Kitty USB – to transport projects (it’s not like it used to be back in the Dark Ages!)

-Jansport Back Pack – (on sale this week) my girl likes to keep them guessing by frequently changing ‘the look’

While walking around our local Staples store, we both stopped when our eyes spotted a beauty that we couldn’t resist!  This gorgeous pink chair is just the thing … fits right into my daughter’s pink and white room!

Staples makes back-to-school shopping, and more, extremely EASY!
