Canadians often complain about the long and cold winter months. We often even see snow fall in the spring months (March and sometimes even April); which means we’re wearing layers – toques, trousers, sweaters, etc. – for at least six months of the year! Ugh! By the time summer rolls around, we’re ready to take full advantage of the rays and warmer climate.
Disclosure: I have been compensated to share this post. The opinions on this blog are my own.
As we wave goodbye to the hats that hide our unwashed hair and trade our long pants for short shorts and skirts, I’m sure I’m not the only one who enters a state of ‘hair emergency’, I find myself getting organised for summer fun days. Do I shampoo and blow dry every day? Where did I put those extra razors? How much time am I going to need to get ready in the morning? And the list goes on.
This year, I’m vowing to sleep more and shave… never! Seriously! Oh, who am I kidding? I’m European!! That means hair, hair, and more hair. In the very least, I’m also going to do my best to cut down on the amount of wasted time on my grooming routine(s). I’ll be using dry shampoo more often because it gives me an extra day (or two) before I have to wash my hair again. You think I’m crazy, don’t you? Have you any idea how much work it is to wash long hair? I’m sure you’re thinking: tell me more!
A good hair day can make all the difference but (as I briefly mentioned above) spending time shampooing, conditioning and blow drying every morning can leave you tired and frazzled. My new secret weapon for fabulous hair is Batiste Dry Shampoo. If you haven’t heard of dry shampoo, trust me, you want to pick up a can of Batiste. It works to instantly revive oily hair, leaving it looking and smelling clean and fresh. No wet washing required and most importantly no blow drying. If I have a few extra minutes to spare, I sometimes re-style my hair but it’s not necessary. Batiste comes in a variety of fragrances – New Batiste Dry Shampoo Cherry is perfect for summer with top notes of pear, melon, kiwi and wildberry!
If you’ve never used dry shampoo before, don’t worry. It’s easy to use. Simply shake can well. Hold 30 cm away from your hair, section & spray into roots. Massage thoroughly with fingertips then brush and style as desired. You can do it blindfolded!Let’s move on to the other hair …
Stubble on your legs leaves you cringing when you reach for that pair of shorts or, even worse, the bikini you’ve been hiding in the back of your closet all winter. This summer, I’ll be taking break(s) from using my razor with the new Nair Nourish Crème for Legs & Body … it’s a hair remover cream with Grape Seed Oil plus Antioxidant Rich Resveratrol, it removes hair in as little as three minutes (yes, three minutes) while moisturizing to restore skin’s youthful glow leaving you with smooth skin for days longer than shaving*. Did you read that? Days!
Tip: Stock up! Keep a tube of Nair in your bathroom at home, in the bathroom at the cottage/cabin/summer home and a third one in your gym bag. The minute you spot the stubble, you’ll have it on hand. All it takes is three minutes and a quick shower or damp cloth to rinse!
Am I your hair hero or what? This summer it’s all about getting your beauty rest, looking fabulous, feeling healthy and rocking those short shorts.
P.S. Between the summer heat and a jam-packed schedule, it’s easy to let healthy eating slip by the wayside. To ensure your body gets the nutrients it needs, try adding a multivitamin to your daily health and beauty routine. A complete multivitamin such as the Vitafusion Women’s Complete Multivitamin is a great option. It’s specially formulated to meet our needs and comes in an easy-to-take, delicious gummy. It includes Biotin and helps maintain hair, skin and nail health – ensuring you glow from the inside out this summer!
