Break the Guinness Record – Family Day Fun #ad

For Family Day fun, why not break a record?  I’m referring to one of the many Guinness World Records!

The Guinness World Records has become a household name and the world leader for keeping world records.  As a young girl, I remember playing with my friends pretending to set world records.  We’d take turns at being the “World’s” strongest, “World’s” fastest, “World’s” slowest … you get the idea.  The sad part about it is we never actually thought we could hold any kind of record.  The truth of the matter is you can!

Since Family Day is coming (so will March Break) to Ontario on Monday, what do you plan on doing with your kids?  For me, as a mom, living in Toronto became difficult to enjoy.  After visiting all the standard locations that are geared for fun activities for kids, and then visiting them all over again and again!  Seriously?  How many times can you visit the same place without getting bored?  I don’t know about your family; however, for mine it didn’t take long.

It become especially hard when I financially no longer could afford all of the outings too!  I had to become clever with what activities to suggest.  They had to be fun and economical … and definitely interesting too!

Luckily, the Guinness World Records publishes a record-breaking annual book that is filled with new images, facts and features.  Their most recent book is now out. I recommend looking at the record-breaking world around us in Guinness World Records: Science & Stuff. Find out more at enough, you and your kids can try to break current world records!  Why not spend Family Day doing just that?!

  1. Apply online.
  2. Get the guidelines.
  3. Attempt your record.
  4. Submit your evidence.

Sounds simple?  Perhaps, but at least you’ll all have fun together trying!

You’re welcome.  If you succeed, and even if you don’t, please return here and tell me about all the fun and about your entire  experience(s).

5 Things Every Parent Needs to Know About Their Kids & Sex

Real Help for the Toughest Talks  – Nervous about talking to your kids about sex? Anxiety over having “the talk” often means we avoid it as long as we can. While we’re waiting, our kids are getting their questions answered and their perceptions of sex and sexuality formed elsewhere–through online searches and a daily diet of mainstream and social media that may shock you.

In this immensely practical and well-researched book, Anne Marie Miller equips parents to take control of the narrative their children are receiving about sex. She shows how to have meaningful and age-appropriate conversations about sex, pornography, and sexual abuse. She also shows how to keep the lines of communication open so that your kids know they can trust you with their fears, struggles, and mistakes. Most important, she offers hope that your children can grow up with a healthy biblical view of sex as a gift from God.

My View

While I don’t necessarily agree that children need complete sheltering from life, I do agree that perhaps we might consider talking to kids about the family values is important.  We must discuss the media’s influence and impact on our lives .. follow the steps to have a healthy view of sexuality.

Anne Marie Miller is the author of five books. She has been featured in numerous publications, including Cosmopolitan, Relevant Magazine, Leadership Journal, Christianity Today, and Youth Worker Journal. Miller speaks frequently at colleges, conferences, and churches in the United States and internationally. She and her husband, Tim, live in Iowa. Learn more at

Scientists are beginning to understand that our thinking has a deep and complicated relationship with our eating. In this revolutionary book, Dr. Caroline Leaf packs an incredible amount of information that will change your eating and thinking habits for the better. Rather than getting caught up in fads such as raw foods, vegan, gluten-free, or paleo, Leaf reveals that every individual has unique nutritional needs and there’s no one perfect solution. Rather, she shows how to change the way you think about food and put yourself on the path toward health.
