Are We Doing Enough? #PlayOnCA #Giveaway CAN 28/09

Women of my age (and older) really saw a difference between girls and boys sports and the support offered.  Unfortunately; in my opinion, it just isn’t enough.  It’s sad to say that it’s common knowledge:  boys have more opportunities than girls when it comes to sports.

Disclosure: I have been compensated to share this post. The opinions on this blog are my own.

It’s September, and that means it’s back-to-school and back-to-sports for our girls! From the court to the track, Playtex® Sport® products are designed to provide comfort and Sport Level Protection to keep girls in the game.  I appreciate all that is done to help girls stay active because I know how important it is.   We need to celebrate and encourage Canadian girls who are participating in sports. They should feel like they’re getting as much support as their male classmates,” says Jill MacKinnon, Brand Manager, Playtex Sport®.  I agree with Jill MacKinnon and wish this view had been the case back in my day.  I can’t grieve over the past but I can cheer on change for the present and for the future.

Developed for women who lead busy and active lives, Playtex® tampons offer multiple levels of absorbencies to give women confidence and freedom in everything they do.

Playtex Sport Tampon + Pads Combo available in 32ct (10 Regular absorbency Tampons, 8 Super absorbency Tampons and 14 Ultra-Thin Pads)My daughter had the opportunity to review the different levels of absorbencies and was very happy with her experience.  It was absorbency at its best at every moment.  I have always encouraged my daughter to keep doing her normal activities (yes, even when swimming!) because it’s important to stay active … your body releases those lovely endorphins that helps to combat cramp-producing chemicals that occur normally during your cycle.  There’s no point in curling up in a ball and eating chocolate; none of that will ease the pain or make things better.

Playtex Sport is encouraging Canadian girls to Play On with the Playtex Play On Canada grant program.  Visit for more information or to apply for funding for your school team (totalling up to $50,000 CAN; up to $5,000 CAN per team) to one or more Canadian high schools.  Playtex® Sport® is accepting applications for Playtex® Play On® Canada grants for girls high school sports teams across Canada  from now until October 31, 2016 11:59:59 a.m. ET**.    “Playtex Sport is committed to keeping girls in the game. The Playtex Play On Canada Grant program is an extension of that commitment, says MacKinnon.

  1. I was shocked to hear that close to 50 % of girls believe boys have more choices when it comes to sports . I had thought that society had helped a bit more then this in schools

  2. I learned that they consider sports a boys thing and that girls should be sitting on the sides, which is totally wrong, girls are now playing sports just as much as the boys are, nothing can stop us!!

  3. From the video (at the end) It looks like you can apply for a grant? Also I believe that there are less opportunities because there are less funds for schools now for sports, and if there are not enough people applying for one sport, then it has to be cancelled in lue of something else. Our school numbers are very small in comparison to a city school. so if there are only 12 girls in the grades 11-12 and there are 20+ boys, then yes, there will be more boys sports teams. In our area as well, the fact that most students get bused in (from farms) does not help either because a lot of times there has to be practices before school starts, esp if they need use of the gym.
