On July 29, 2016 Entertainment One Films released the movie Bad Moms and all I can say is: “Go See It”!
Disclosure: I have not been compensated to share this post other than the mentioned retreat. The opinions on this blog are my own.
Bad Moms is the latest comedy from the writers of The Hangover … Amy has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However she’s over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she’s about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other 0ver-stressed moms on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mom-like blinge of long overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn and her clique of devoted perfect moms.
The Entertainment One Films team invited me to celebrate the release of BAD MOMS by joining them for a full day event on July 20th including an exclusive, private film screening, lunch and pampering at Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Chateau des Charmes. What a full, fun day it was!
The film is a definite must-see so put together a group of your girlfriends and spend a couple of hours laughing … you won’t regret the night out! Is it worth all the headaches of trying to get a sitter? Yes! Is it worth having to plan the night around all the ‘to-do’s’ on your list? Yes! Is it worth making a quick box of KD and sneaking out the back door even if it means going out alone to watch the movie? Heck yes! Whatever you have to do, just do it.
I’m actually not in the habit of reviewing movies. I don’t really want to give away anything about the movie. My goal here is not to ‘review’; instead, I am passionately persuading you to take the time out for yourself, take some ‘me’ time, make the effort for a girl’s night out and go. Mom (good, bad, or anything in between), you’ve earned it. Has it been a while since you last contacted your gal pals? Well, this movie reminds us how important it is to stay connected … we are not alone.
If you read my post thinking it would be a review, I’m sorry to have disappointed you. I’m certain you can locate a review somewhere online. I’m more about looking at the big picture (no pun intended). There’s a reason why this movie is so funny. I’m sure that there’s a few of you who can relate to every type of mom there is! Personally, I can relate with each and every type of mom depicted in the movie. So why is it funny? Well, I think that we have all either done, or thought of doing, similar things at some point in our own lives. We each can connect with every character, we see ourselves on that big screen, and we understand what it is like to be a mom.
Get out there ladies, and party like a mother!
