Back-to-School with @Netflix_ca #StreamTeam

It seems like summer just started, and before you know it, you’re getting your little ones ready for the first day of school.  It’s back-to-school for parents too:  shopping lists, planning and organizing! All of it just adds up to back-to-school madness!  In reality, you really just want your kids to put their best foot forward, behave for their teachers, make friends, and learn something new.  Sometimes that’s easier said than done.

Instead of sitting your kids down for a first day pep talk, let their favourite characters do the talking.  Some of their favourite shows and movies touch on important lessons that can’t be taught inside the classroom, and give them confidence to be their best. Check out our three new Netflix original series for kids this month:

EVER AFTER HIGH: WAY TOO WONDERLAND

My 17-year-old daughter, and I love Grease.  It’s one of my personal favourites!  Over the years, she’s come to learn that I didn’t grow up “in those days”, and she also understands that the movie was made to reflect that era and that the actors aren’t from “those days” either.  It’s a fun back-to-school movie for teens.  We’ve watched it every year for many years now; however, this year it’s a little more special because this year is my daughter’s final year in High School.  While my daughter won’t be going through any major changes (like Sandy did in the movie), she will be going through many changes in her life.  The end of High School is both scary and exciting … it’s a mixture of “I can’t wait for my life to begin” and “oh my goodness, what am I going to do next?”.  The key thing to remember is life has a funny way of working out in the end.  You have to trust your gut and go with it.
