This year, National Donate Your Hair Day is Saturday, November 22 … You can support the cause by making the cut and donating your ponytail to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. All it takes is at least 8 inches of hair that isn’t permanently coloured or chemically treated and no more than 5% grey. And it’s open to kids too!
Pantene Beautiful Lengths is a program in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, built on the simple, generous act of donating a ponytail to create real hair wigs for women battling cancer. These real-hair wigs are available at no cost to women across the country who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
If you live in Toronto, you can make an appointment at Shagg Salon (102 Scollard St., in Yorkville) for November 22. Appointments are limited and are on a first come, first served basis between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. To make an appointment, please emailpantenecanada@gmail.com and the salon will contact you directly to confirm your appointment time. Unfortunately, my hair is dyed (shhh it’s our secret).
I have never done this but I sure do think the women who do are amazing.
