You’ve had the chance to read my previous article on a product made by Brother®, right? @BrotherCanada – Literally At My Side! Find Out How … (my review of PT-1100SBVP the compact, handheld labeler)
This time around, I’ve been graciously offered to review one of their many sewing machines! I had been searching for a wonderful way to spend quality time with my 14 year old daughter. Have you noticed that life is so rushed; to the point where society is losing the art of hand-making so many things … like: crocheting, knitting, needle point, quilting, and even sewing?! Most of the younger generation, that I’ve spoken with, have no idea how to even sew on a button!
Here’s a thought: maybe the current generation is too busy working to try to keep up with all of the expenses!! Who has time to teach the younger generation how to do all of those things? Besides, aren’t those youngin’s too busy on their electronics?! Well, this mama wants to try to change all that … at least with my daughter. When Brother Canada offered me a sewing machine in exchange for my review, I think I lost time!! Yes; I was too busy jumping up and down!! When my daughter came home, afterschool, on the day I received the good news, she became as excited as I was! It seems that, when she had spent a summer with her Aunt and Uncle in British Columbia, her Aunt had shown her how to sew on her machine … and mentioned how great of a job my daughter had done! Since then my daughter has wanted to have more opportunities to sew on a machine; however, we don’t have one. The old machine that I had, passed down to me, broke down years ago and I hadn’t replaced it, yet. Well, no more need to worry! I am now the proud owner of my very own Brother LX-3125!!
So, what do you need to know about sewing machines? This is what they had to say: ‘Brother has one of the most extensive sewing machine ranges on the market. Our mechanical free-arm machines offer a vast array of basic sewing stitch functions such as twin needles for two colour sewing, dial thread tension adjustments, and a quick bobbin winding system. Brother mechanical sewing machines are used for simple projects a beginner or seasoned sewer can enjoy.’

The Brother LX-3125 sewing machine was definitely put to the test! I took a moment to remember how to thread the machine; but once I accomplished that task, it was pretty easy.
