My Review:

Walk Strong, Look Up by Chantel Hobbs is a motivational fitness book, with a twist.  Chantel has struggled with her weight for years, so she knows exactly what it’s like to be in that position.  She knows what it’s like to put your health on the back burner, and she knows what it’s like to change all that.  Chantel has put all of her knowledge into her book; she covers routines, tips, recipes, and even some personal coaching.

Chantel’s approach is different than most fitness books, because she incorporates a spiritual component into the exercising.  For many, it’s this that gives them enthusiasm to persevere.  This energy, from within, is what gives motivation to continue, and to succeed in attaining the set goals.

Chantel managed to lose 200 lbs … amazing!!!  Chantel guides us with her routines, that include chats (pre-walk, and post walk).  Everything is clearly explained in her book: the chats, the foods, FAQ, and so forth.  It really is all outlined, and simple to follow.  I can really appreciate encompasing the spiritual side … we are whole beings, and therefore we should care for ourselves – our ‘whole’ selves – meaning, all sides to us: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.  It all goes hand-in-hand.

Chantel clears away all of our excuses, one by one.  No victory could feel like a victory without some sort of sacrifice!  Once you’ve attained success, keep going.

Would I recommend this book?  Well, I can say that the basis for this book is fantastic; however, it might not be beneficial to all.  I would recommend it; however, to all who have accepted the Saviour, or even to all who can embrace an unique way of doing things.  Leaving religion aside, honestly what works today may not work tomorrow, and what works for her, may not work for you.   Getting to the point, there’s no harm in trying a new way of doing things; if you don’t agree with a view, you can always alter it to encompass your belief.  What important piece of information that I hold dear is, strengthening your spiritual side is just as important as every other area.

Good job Chantel.
