Naked Fitness is not about working out in the nude. And it’s not about being dressed in the best workout attire either. Naked Fitness is about stripping away all the clutter that stops you from getting your wonderful, beautiful body into the best shape possible. It’s about breaking down the barriers and fears that are keeping you from becoming motivated and staying on track. It’s about learning how to move your body without pain, align it to its fullest potential, and recognize how the correct alignment impacts your daily health. Naked Fitness is not just another exercise book. Instead, it uniquely tailors a solution specific to your body and build.

In Naked Fitness, you will look in the mirror and find your fountain of youth. Whether you are a couch potato or an agile athlete, you will learn how to look at your body and understand exactly what it needs to be in perfect alignment, and to feel and look your very best. The “Daily Ten” personalized routines are specific to which part of your spine needs alignment to function better. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, live healthier, or improve your performance on and o+ the field, you will find the answers in Naked Fitness. You can then take your routine one step further by completing the Naked Fitness web questionnaire and download your personalized exercise routine DVD.

My Review:

Upon receiving Naked Fitness, I was relieved that I didn’t have to get naked to exercise!  Whew, that was a relief!  The key to this book is to embrace changes in your life, while remaining genuine.  We take a realistic look at all the excuses that we make up that, in turn, keep us from the healthy life we so desperately desire.
My personal  key challenges are: emotional eating (depression), and lack of exercising (due to a bad back).   We’re not just looking at losing weight here!  We’re tackling all the issues that keep you from attaining your goals.   Metcalf has included a Daily Walking Log, and also self-assessment questionnaires to help you along.   We’re also given cool-down/stretching exercises, recipes, detailed menus, and even shopping lists … everything you need to help you focus on your weak spots!
Although the exercises, and key diet tips (calorie counting) are nothing new, I really like that it has all been compiled neatly into an “everything-you-need-in-one-book”.   The exercises are low-impact, and won’t put stress on your joints … you can safely do these exercises, even if you have injuries.  I really appreciate how Metcalf’s 28-day program is based on your own personal goals (which include mental, emotional and physical health).
Walking is highlighted as essential; in fact 2 hours per day is highly recommended.  You can squeeze small bursts of exercises throughout the day instead of doing it at one time.  Stretches and strength-training are also focussed on, perfect for enhancing the flexibility of your muscles and tendons.  Metcalf goes on promoting the program past the 28 days … it’s a lifestyle change that needs to be maintained!
I’ve been following Metcalf, on Twitter, for some time now.  I’ve found her tweets to be both energetic, and inspirational.  My goodness, I wish she was a close friend of mine … one that lived next door to me and could then motivate me daily!
I believe that the Naked Fitness 28-day program is an optimal choice; one that will help you achieve a healthier, and happier you!
