If you follow me on Facebook, you may have noticed a couple of pictures that are ‘out of the norm’ for me. If you guessed “a dog” then you’d be correct. I’ve posted a couple of pictures of Kelsey while on our walks.
My friends left on Thursday, until Tuesday, and their dog stayed with me. I’ve watched Kelsey (the dog) before, and she loves staying with me! Auntie Jeannine is the best after all! From this two-cat-owner, it can be difficult to bring a dog into the picture. My boys do not enjoy the temporary addition to the house and they miss hanging out with mommy. ”Don’t worry babies, it’ll be over soon.”
In an attempt to maintain some kind of peace in the house, I’ve set up a baby gate to divide the front of the house from the back of the house. This way everyone has their safe space. This hasn’t always worked: Jake (our big boy) is very determined … when he wants to see mommy nothing will stop him … he knocked the gate over to come visit mommy in the bedroom! Jasper (our young/agile boy) just jumps over the gate when he wants something. It’s knowing that Kelsey can’t go after them (when the gate is up) that makes them feel more comfortable.
I’ve certainly had more walks lately … more than I’m used to! This is the ‘plus’ side of having a dog, no doubt.
