We Can Wednesdays – February 6, 2013

Hello, and welcome to the first post of a We Can Wednesdays.  Two days ago, one of My Bits and Bleeps’ regular readers made a suggestion that I thought was splendid.   Thank you Mer for suggesting we have a place to where we can all meet, where we can offer support, where we can share tips, recipes, and anything else that would support a healthy life.

We’ll have to take baby steps … I’m not knowledgeable about health so I wouldn’t recommend taking any suggestion offered here as the “final word”.  If you should have any doubts or concerns with your health, please consult with your doctor.  With that in mind, I would recommend slowly phasing in any “changes in your life” so that you give yourself enough time to adapt.  In my case, I have legitimate back issues, I will only exercise (as instructed by my doctor) up to the point I begin to feel any pain.

I’m hoping that this new category becomes an important weekly space.  Here’s hoping that it’ll offer support to those that seek it.  I look forward to meeting you here each Wednesday.

Here’s my first update:

Monday I walked – 7865 steps – but it was so cold.

Tuesday I only walked – 2879 steps.

    I love this idea. I think it makes it so much likely that we’ll actually do something if we set ourselves small goals to start. I’m trying to organize my house which has felt overwhelming to me so I set myself the tiniest of daily goals…put 5 things in a box to donate, for example. But it’s working. Good luck with your walking goal!

    Yeahhhhh!!! I’m so thrilled you liked my suggestion!!! Thank you for creating We Can Wednesdays. It will be nice to check in and see how we’re all doing, with whatever it is we’re doing.
    Me, I’d love to lose weight and become more active. I’ve already made changes to my diet. Each morning for 3 weeks now I’ve eaten steel cut oats…yummy and full of fibre. Try them and see for yourself :)
    I’m also thinking of joining a yoga class – I’ve never done yoga in my life !!!
