Brand Connections: @FordCanada @ToshibaCanada #SCCTO

I’m almost certain that most of the Bloggers, that attended SCCTO, are still feeling the “high”.  I, for one, still feel the incredible energy pumping through my body.  Being a panelist facilitated my first, real public speaking opportunity.  Of course, I’ve spoken in front of a class of approximately 30 fellow students … hasn’t almost everyone?  Speaking in front of 200+ people was a new experience.  (to say the least)

The SCCTO two-day Conference provided the perfect setting for connections to happen between Brand and Blogger.   I’ll introduce the first two (Title Sponsor, and Gold Sponsor):

Ford Canada:

Ammar Kahn, Social Media Manager, Ford Motor Company, was a Title Sponsor at SCCTO.  He was very clear about how much Ford Canada appreciates Canadian Women Bloggers.  I liked the focused 1:1 moment that he spent with each blogger.  He was genuine, and very approachable.  What I appreciated most was how relaxed he was … obviously he felt very comfortable in this Sea of Bloggers.  Thank you for our conversation Ammar.

There were several Ford stations to visit at the conference.  Each station featured some aspect of either their technology, or their product.  The one I loved the most was experiencing the Active Par Assist technology!  What is that?  Basically it allows the car to park itself.  Really and truly!  It was awesome.  There are sensors around the car that “sees” where there is a parking spot available, and then it manoeuvres the necessary steps.  All you do is brake when it is required.  Best part:  it only costs and extra $2000 to have this technology included when purchasing a new Ford vehicle*.  You have got to experience this for yourself!  It’s ultimate “coolness” at a very reasonable price.  If I were to purchase a new Ford car, I would definitely want this technology to be included.

Toshiba Canada:

Melissa, Toshiba Canada Representative, was a Gold Sponsor at SCCTO.  With Toshiba’s leading innovation, it’s always golden!

Toshiba Canada** provided a 55″ screen TV, a blue-ray DVD player, and a laptop as prizes for the SCCTO attendees.  Their booth was equipped with the Toshiba tablet, set up as a DEMO.  I got the chance to hold one (would love to own one!), and fell in love with some features instantly.

The Toshiba tablet is the only one with full size ports (USB, HDMI, SD), removable battery, and coloured back covers.  It also has FLASH compatibility on the Android operating system.

I loved the grip that the back cover had … there’s no way that it will slip from your hands.

Guess what?  The Toshiba Thrive 7″ tablet is on its way to Canada!!!

It was fantastic meeting these two Sponsors of SCCTO, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with each of them in the future.
